Our Story
McClain Construction Group was founded by Drew McClain, a seasoned general contractor, and Hillary Hemstreet McClain, a licensed architect. After years of successful independent careers in the construction industry, we saw an opportunity to improve the client experience by offering both design and construction services under one roof.
In 2017, we opened McClain Architecture, where Hillary focused on creating bespoke designs, and Drew worked on large-scale construction projects. Recognizing the value of an integrated process, we launched McClain Construction Group to better serve our clients by managing both the design and construction phases, ensuring a smoother and more cohesive experience.
We approach every project as a collaborative team, with a focus on communication and building trusting relationships with our clients. From concept to completion, we are dedicated to making your dream home a reality.
Hillary Hemstreet McClain, AIA
CO-FOUNDERHillary is an award-winning licensed architect with over 15 years of experience in the construction industry. With a strong background in both residential and commercial projects, Hillary brings a unique architectural and design perspective to the team. She has developed a specialty in historic preservation and is passionate about creating designs that reflect the diverse architectural styles of South Florida.
As co-founder of McClain Construction Group, Hillary plays a pivotal role in ensuring that every project aligns with the client's vision while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship. Her deep understanding of the design process allows her to collaborate effectively with both the construction and design teams, helping to streamline the building process and deliver results that exceed expectations. Her experience with a variety of architectural styles ensures that each project feels distinct, yet cohesive with its surroundings.
Before founding McClain Construction Group, Hillary opened McClain Architecture, where she honed her design expertise and continues to add to her exquisite portfolio of projects. As a native of South Florida, her designs are heavily influenced by the local environment, and she thrives on translating that inspiration into homes that are not only beautiful but functional.

Drew McClain
CO-FOUNDERDrew is a certified general contractor with over 20 years of experience in the construction industry. Throughout his career, he has managed and worked on a diverse range of projects, from large-scale office towers and multi-family community developments to high-end residential properties. This broad experience has equipped him with a deep understanding of various construction methodologies, allowing him to approach each project with flexibility and a solution-oriented mindset.
Having worked across the state of Florida, Drew has gained a wealth of knowledge about local building codes, environmental considerations, and construction challenges specific to the region. His extensive background in construction management and owner’s representation has helped him develop a keen eye for detail, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
